About
I originally lived in Bristol and went to Colston Girls School, then went to Manchester University where I took degrees in chemistry. Most of my career was then spent in the Civil Service as an administrator but I had my own company for a short time before I retired. I worked as a volunteer in the prison service and as an advocate for vulnerable people.
I’ve lived in Widmer End for nearly 35 years, have 2 sons, 3 granddaughters and a dog (and a husband). I like walking and gardening and I started to re-learn the clarinet during lockdown.
My objectives on HPC are
- a) To prevent the Council giving away valuable land, including four allotment sites, to a charity called Hughenden Community Support Trust, because I think this is unlawful. I will continue to press the Council to set out HCST’s legal case for claiming ownership (if it exists) and to take legal advice on this case;
- b) To make life safer and more enjoyable for residents, including helping to provide good quality playgrounds and safer roads, pavements and footpaths;
- c) To improve the environment, including preventing inappropriate development, planting trees (lots of them) and letting wild flowers grow on the verges; and
- d) Robust financial management and good governance.
I can be contacted on 01494 717036.
